Tile is one of those things that either makes a bathroom or breaks it. Get it wrong - uneven lines, poor prep, sloppy cuts - and it shows every single day. Get it right, and the whole room feels intentional and built to last.
Here's what we're working with on this one. Two distinct tile selections, each doing something different for the space. The tub surround features a rich, dark stone-look tile with dramatic veining that runs floor to ceiling. It's bold without being overdone, and the grout lines are tight and consistent from top to bottom.
The larger wall area uses an oversized marble-look tile in a lighter cream and gold tone. Large format tiles like these demand precise prep work - the substrate has to be flat, the layout has to be planned carefully, and every cut has to be clean. There's no hiding mistakes at this scale. That's why we spend the time on the front end to make sure everything is right before the first tile goes up.
This is mid-installation, and already the character of this bathroom is taking shape. The dark cabinetry alongside that lighter tile wall is going to be a sharp contrast once everything comes together. Good tile work doesn't just protect the walls - it's the detail that gives the whole room its personality.
Every bathroom renovation we take on gets this same level of attention to prep and placement. It's not glamorous work behind the scenes, but it's what separates a bathroom that holds up and looks great for years from one that starts showing problems down the road.
